THE ATLANTIS, BAHAMAS

I had such a crazy, adventurous holiday vacation lol...My friends and I started off in Cabo, Mexico for five days, then went to Miami for New Years Eve, then flew to the Bahamas to wind down after New Years before going back into work.  We flew private from Mexico to Miami and Miami to Bahamas. In the Bahamas we stayed at the Cove at the Atlantis. The Cove is the more sophisticated part of the Atlantis and it's supposed to be adults only. It's quieter, and super sexy. I loved it. We had a cabana by the pool/beach everyday. The "Cain at the Cove" is so beautiful. It's the main pool area at The Cove with day beds and cabanas around the bool and located right on the beach. The DJ was amazing and spun all the hottest tracks by the pool (both house music and hip-hop).It had just a really fun and sexy vibe. When we wanted some more action we ventured over to the Atlantis to play in the Casino, visit the Aquarium, shop in the stores, go to the night club, etc. There is no way anyone can be bored while staying on he Atlantis property. There is something to do for everyone. It was my first time there and I was in disbelief how big it was. It was like Disneyland. I was blown away. Check out some pictures from my trip!

I didn't get a chance to go on it this past trip but I definitely will next time! Looks awesome.
ME AT THE ATLANTIS AQUARIUM!
This was one of the most impressive aquariums I have ever seen. I couldn't believe this was inside a hotel! They had everything from sharks, hundreds of different kinds of fish (small and large), sting rays, eels, sea horses, turtles, etc. It was an incredible sight. So fascinating!
ME GAMBLING AT THE MAIN CASINO IN THE ATLANTIS. I WON SOME MONEY :)

I am going back to the Atlantis in April and I can't wait! I had a great experience there. It was so fun!

A DAY IN DOWNTOWN LA! DRAGO CENTRO, LOS ANGELES

MY DAY IN DOWNTOWN LA
This past weekend I wondered around Downtown LA to some amazing locations and took some pictures just for fun! There are so many beautiful, artsy locations down there you would never think to travel to. Later in the day, I had dinner at the well known restaurant, Drago Centro in the heart of downtown. It was really great Italian food. We loved it. Check out my food pictures from Drago and I also wanted to share a couple pictures I took that day :)

SANCTUARY CAP CANA RESORT, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

ME~SANCTUARY CAP CANA~ON TOP OF THE CASTLE
I recently stayed at the Sanctuary Cap Cana in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I've been all over the world and stayed at beautiful hotels, but I have to admit this might be my new favorite or definitely a close second. The grounds of this hotel were breathtaking, and everywhere you looked had stunning views. We came at a really quiet time of year and it felt like we had the resort to ourselves. Our package was all inclusive food & drink, and the restaurants on site were all great. The pool and beach were beautiful- the water was amazing. The grounds of this resort is huge, there are different areas to stay. There is a castle where the spa is located with rooms and suites with private pools. There are beautiful villas, junior suites, and regular rooms offered as well. I love this place because it feels like 5 star luxury, but reasonably priced. We stayed in the 2 bedroom Royalty Villa right over the ocean. Check out my pictures!
2 BEDROOM ROYALTY VILLA W/ TERRACE DECK
I was in heaven. 2 bedroom, 3 bathrooms, living area, huge patio deck on the ocean with a cabana and lounge chairs, our own pool, jacuzzi bathroom tubs over looking the ocean, rain showers etc. It was incredible. You could enjoy the day out on your own private deck or take a short walk to the beach or resort pool for some action. But it was nice to have the privacy when you desired. Truly a stunning villa.
CASTLE SUITE VIEW
If you are a couple staying at Sanctuary Cap Cana, I suggest staying in a castle suite. It has its own pool on top of the castle with ocean views. It is a two story suite. The rooftop on the castle has it's own private pool with a bar too (separate from the main resort pool) if you don't want to stay in your own suite all day. There are regular rooms in castle as well if you don't want a suite. The castle is exquisite and the views are absolutely stunning. Please check out the hotel website for more pictures of the Sanctuary castle.
RESORT POOL WITH SWIM UP BAR
The pool was huge and most of the time empty. The pool bar was located half in the pool so if you wanted a cocktail you can just swim up at sit at the bar stools in the pool. The picture above is with my mom and brother :)

MADEO, LOS ANGELES

ON MY WAY TO MADEOS :)
Dinner date at Madeos! I just ate at Madeo the other night and it was such a great dinner. This old school Italian restaurant has been a "Hollywood" hot spot for years and the food is delicious. If you can get past the paparazzi outside the restaurant and the prices being on the expensive side, Madeo offers excellent Italian food with an old-school, classic vibe.

2013 VENDY AWARDS- BROOKLYN, NEW YORK

Lobster grilled cheese, Philly cheese steak, pizza, pulled pork sandwiches, empanadas, tacos, dumplings, curry, fried anchovies...........it didn't stop! My sister and I attended the Vendy Awards in Brooklyn a couple weeks ago-also known as "the Oscars of street food". The Vendy Awards is a food truck competition that identifies and celebrates NYC's best street food vendors, fundraising to support the nonprofit organization, Street Vendor Project of the Urban Justice Center. I had a press pass and got to try all the best voted food trucks in New York City. Let's just say I couldn't move afterwards. I wish I had a bigger stomach to try everything but I only could fit so much in there lol. A little overwhelming for someone like me who wanted to try everything, but there was just too much. Not going to go into detail in this post about all the amazing food, I just more want to let everyone know about this awesome event. I was in food blogger heaven! Please note: I labeled each food truck with the corresponding pictures above.

RUBIROSA, NEW YORK CITY

I was recently in New York for Fashion week and obviously had to hit up some good food while I was out there for my blog. On my lunch break my friend and I decided to head to the heart of Nolita to the Italian eatery Rubirosa. My friend was craving good Italian food and I was recommended to go to this place so we decided to give it a try. It was perfect. We had such a great lunch!
 FETTUCCINE ALFREDO
This wasn't on the regular menu, it was a special for that day. Our server recommended it and said it was a really good pasta. It was! It was a lighter version of your typical take on fettuccine Alfredo- the sauce wasn't as creamy as your traditional Alfredo sauce, and the pasta had lots of vegetables in it so it tasted healthier and not as heavy. It still had great flavor and the pasta melted in your mouth. You could tell by the texture that it was all fresh, handmade noodles.

 VODKA PIZZA
Vodka Sauce/ Fresh Mozzarella
I LOVED this pizza. Thin pizza is my favorite, and this pizza was as thin as it gets. The vodka sauce was amazing and made it different than your traditional mozzarella cheese pizza. There is just something about the bread in NY, it's better than anywhere else. I put a little oregano, some crushed red pepper and each bite was perfection. So delicious!

MISTER SOFTEE, NEW YORK CITY

I love Mister Softee! If you are a New Yorker, than you know Mister Softee. There are a bunch of trucks around the city and it's basically just a really yummy ice cream truck! I love their simple vanilla ice cream cone with rainbow sprinkles. The ice cream is so creamy, fluffy and delicious. If you are ever in New York and see a Mister Softee truck, you have to stop for a quick sweet treat :)

MILK, LOS ANGELES

Beach day & MILK Shop! After a long, hot day at the beach my friends and I wanted something sweet & cold. We decided to try MILK on Beverly Blvd. in Los Angeles. They have ice cream sandwiches, freshly baked cookies, and make your own cookie ice cream sandwiches! They also have regular food, but the reason the line is out the door is because of the bake shop. My friends and I went all out as you can see from the pictures below... the best was just the traditional chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich.
*BEACH+ICE CREAM=PERFECT SUMMER DAY*
 COOKIE ASSORTMENT!!!!!
CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE W/ VANILLA ICE CREAM
MY FAVORITE! Chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream in the middle. The cookie itself was delicious. It tasted freshly baked. It's traditional and classic and you can't go wrong.
 MACAROON ICE CREAM SANDWICHES
Mint chocolate chip, blueberry, red velvet & cookies & cream
These were so fun to try! I loved all the different flavor assortments. They were all so yummy! I did like the cookie ice cream sandwich better because their cookies are so good.
THE AFTERMATH! MAJOR DAMAGE...LOL

My friends go back all the time and swear on the red velvet ice cream from MILK. I haven't tried it yet but next time I go back I will! My recommendation is to definitely get one of their fresh baked cookies with your choice of ice cream in the middle...enjoy!

THE GORBALS, DOWNTOWN LA

I have been curious about The Gorbals for quite some time. Located in Downtown LA in The Alexandria Hotel, this foodie hotspot has been on my radar for awhile. It's continually brought up in conversations by other foodies and when I went to the Downtown LA ArtWalk recently, I finally decided to give it a shot. The menu is unconventional, daring & unique.Chef Ilan Hall, half Israeli and Scottish, definitely took a risk in challenging the limits of his patrons' palates, which is why I think foodies appreciate and really like this place. I don't think the menu is for everyone though. The food is different, and if you are a simple eater, there may be a little too much going on for you. See my reviews below...
COCKTAILS
It's Bourbon Honey: 4 roses Bourbon, saffron-honey, lemon-grapefruit fizz
Jalapeno Margarita: Jalapeno, Thyme, Contreau, Tequila, Lime, Agave
Could have done with out. I never seem to like fancy cocktails like this.
SWEET POTATO WITH SAGE BUTTER
I liked this dish. I love sweet potato-they were a little on the greasy side but had good flavor and melted in your mouth.
BANH MI POUTINE
This was interesting. Basically a plate of thick-cut fries, with a banh mi gravy sauce, shredded pork, cheese, jalapeno and pickles. There was a lot going on. It was kind of like an Asian twist on nachos, but with french fries lol. I enjoyed it because it was different, but it was a little on the salty side. It's also very heavy, so good to share for the table.
NUESKI'S BACON-WRAPPED MATZOH BALLS
This dish put The Gorbals on the foodie map-it is the restaurant's most famous dish. It is such a unique yet contradictory combination lol. Matzoh balls are known in the Jewish tradition as a staple food for "Passover", and Jewish people are known to not eat pork, so the chef clearly wanted to make a joke out of it. I think the idea is brilliant. Did I think it was well executed? I'm on the fence about it. I appreciated it because it was different and fun, but I didn't think it was anything special and I felt it lacked in flavor. Bacon makes everything taste better,  but it just didn't do anything for me this time. The bacon was soft and soggy, and the matzoh balls didn't have flavor. I was disappointed.
PERSIAN CUCUMBERS, AVOCADO, CRISPY GARBANZOS, SUMAC
I actually really liked this. It was so light and fresh. I am a huge avocado lover, so kind of hard not to like this dish. I've never had crispy garbanzo beans before and I loved it. It added crunch and flavor to the salad.
THE GOLDEN BUCK
Stout & Cheddar, Fried Egg & Grilled Sour Dough
There was something about this that I didn't like. I don't know if it was the flavor of the bread, or the cheese, but there was a flavor that was over powering that I didn't care for. It basically was an open faced sandwich with thick toast, cheese and a fried egg on top. I don't know how it could go wrong, but my friends and I just didn't like it.

I have mixed feelings about The Gorbals. I appreciate the fun and daring menu but I feel like some of the food combinations worked, and some didn't. I can see why foodies love this place, but I guess it's just not my taste. They have so many other things on the menu I am curious to try, and I am totally willing to give it a second chance, but I won't be rushing back. I would love to get anyone's take on the restaurant- feel free to leave a comment and share your opinions!
