THE HONOR BAR, BEVERLY HILLS

The Honor Bar, owned by the Hillstone Group (owners of Houstons, Bandera, etc.) is a trendy/upscale bar with amazing food. Located on South Beverly Drive, The Honor Bar is attached to the famous South Beverly Grill. While offering some of the same food as South Beverly Grill, The Honor Bar's menu is a little more casual and has more comfort food. Everything we ordered was so amazing!
HAND-CUT FRENCH FRIES W/ TWO DIPPING SAUCES
These fries were so good! They had a spicy mayo sauce that was so amazing too. The fries were crispy and had so much flavor. Perfect fries to me...
 KALE SALAD W/ PEANUT VINAGRETTE
Emerald kale, fresh herbs, & roasted peanut vinagrette
Never in a million years would I think to order this, but it was SO good. Healthy and had so much flavor. These kind of dishes make eating healthy so easy. I loved the peanut vinagrette! I highly recommend!
HIRAMASA ROLL
Spicy Tuna & Avocado topped with Hiramasa Sashimi, caviar
Light, fresh and delicious. It had a spicy kick to it too which I loved. Great roll!
 THE HONOR BURGER
Shredded cabbage, tomoato, cheddar & house-made bun
This was a damn good burger. Burgers are my specialty, and I give props to this one. It was unique because of the cabbage slaw and it was so saucy and juicy. I would totally order this again and again. Definitely a great burger in LA, highly recommend!

DING'S CRISPY CHICKEN SANDWICH
Crispy chicken, sliced tomato, & vinagrette slaw
Um literally, this was out of this world. Heaven! Everything about this was amazing. The arugula with the sauce, and the vinagrette slaw with the fried chicken and melted cheese...it was the perfect combination of flavors. This might have been my favorite thing ordered. It's a must!

The Honor Bar is very lively and they even have a live jazz band! It's a great place for lunch, or dinner and drinks with friends after work. I loved all the food that we ordered there. I highly recommend this place. Ambiance is cool and it's so delicious!

LA SCALA, BEVERLY HILLS & BRENTWOOD

JEAN LEON ORIGINAL CHOPPED SALAD
LETTUCE, SALAMI, MOZZARELLA CHEESE, MARINATED GARBANZO BEANS, LEON DRESSING
This post is specifically for La Scala's famous chopped salad. When people talk about La Scala, you most likely will always hear about the chopped salad. It's light, refreshing, flavorful and perfect. The dressing is light and has a lemon citrus flavor. All the ingredients just work together very nicely. I love that it's light and crisp tasting but it still fills you up. La Scala is just an all around trendy Italian restaurant in LA- there is one in Beverly Hills and one in Brentwood. Another dish they are famous for is their Spaghetti Bolognese. We  ordered the Ravioli Di Aragosta which is their lobster ravioli which was great too.
RAVIOLI DI ARAGOSTA
LOBSTER RAVIOLI IN A BROWN BUTTER SAUCE WITH SAGE
It doesn't look there was any sauce but there was. It was a clear brown butter sauce and it was so flavorful. The outer edges of the pasta had a crisp to them and the lobster inside was creamy and melted in your mouth. Nice texture and flavor.Great dish!

SUGARFISH BY SUSHI NOZAWA

All you need to know when you go to Sugarfish is to order the "Trust Me". I have been hearing about this place for so long from multiple people raving how good their sushi is. They just opened one in Studio City, and when I found that out, I made sure it was my next stop lol. They are known for their simple yet freshest quality of fish,- no fancy, fried or saucy rolls there. Everything literally melts in your mouth, and this place made me realize you don't need fancy, saucy rolls to satisfy a sushi craving. As soon as the sushi is ready they bring it out and suggest you eat it right away. They don't do requests for extra rice, sauces or substitutions and suggest you do not use soy sauce either because they want you to taste the quality of the fish. They do have light sauces that they put on the fish so everything had flavor though. It's not your typical sushi place and that's why I liked it. The "Trust Me" is $29.95 per person, it's like a sushi package and this is what it consists of...
ORGANIC EDAMAME
TUNA SASHIMI
Marinated in ponzu sauce. I loved this. Fresh and light, and still had lots of flavor.
ALBACORE SUSHI & BAY SCALLOP SUSHI
The albacore literally melts in  your mouth. With the warm rice underneath and the cool fresh fish on top, it literally melts in  your mouth. The albacore had a ponzu marinade so it didn't need soy sauce. This originally came with salmon sushi but I don't like salmon so I substituted bay scallops for it. The Bay scallop sushi was also great- the rice was warm underneath and the creaminess of the scallops made it the perfect combo. This had flavor too so no need for soy sauce.
ALBACORE SUSHI & SALMON SUSHI
Same as above but it comes with salmon sushi originally so wanted to take a picture of it so you could see :)

YELLOWTAIL & HALIBUT SUSHI
This was my favorite sushi of the night. The yellowtail and halibut and a crisp citrus marinate. Both melted in your mouth. I especially love halibut because of its tenderness. Both such great fishes, and because its such good quality fish the light sauces on them were just enough. Perfection!
TORO HAND ROLL
I usually don't like seaweed. I get soy paper, but for some reason I really liked the handrolls at Sugarfish. The saltiness of the seaweed with the warm rice and the tender fresh fish was so good. Simple, but flavorful and delicious.
BLUE CRAB HAND ROLL
I love crab hand rolls! This was also very light and delicious. The crab was creamy and it just makes such a difference with warm rice instead of cold! These hand rolls are good with a little soy sauce in my opinion.

I highly recommend trying Sugarfish. It's such a change of pace from your typical sushi restaurant and the quality of fish is incomparable. On the menu, order either of the three packages: the "Trust Me", "Trust Me Lite" if you want less food, or the "Nozawa". That's all you have to know when you go there. Enjoy! There are locations in Studio City, Brentwood, Downtown LA, & Santa Monica.
